A scientific seminar “Asian Nutrition Forum” was held in Dhaka on Monday 23rd October, 2017 at Hotel Le Meridian, Dhaka jointly organized by Renata Limited, Bangladesh & Biomin GmbH, Austria.
Held every two years, the Asia Nutrition Forum assembles hundreds of experts, researchers and academics from the food and feed industries around the world to address the latest challenges in the animal health and nutrition arena in Asia.
It is the premier scientific assembly for connecting with peers, fostering partnerships and exchanging information, experiences and best practices.
First held in 2005, the Asia Nutrition Forum hosted by BIOMIN has become the leading opportunity for industry practitioners to share ideas and exchange knowledge, alongside the World Nutrition Forum. These biennial summits are consistently well rated by attendees. Each edition draws upon the uniqueness of the location, speakers and participants while maintaining the highest quality standards for both content and organization.
The 2017 Asia Nutrition Forum will offer top industry professionals the opportunity to explore the factors driving the future of the Asian protein economy. The plenary session will address key challenges in livestock industry, with a focus on the rising trend of antibiotic-free production in Asia.
In present day 60 percent (4.5 billion) of total population in the world are in Asia pacific region which will be about 5 billion by 2050. In present era, it’s a great obstacle to meet up the growing population demand of safety, affordable and sustainable protein includes poultry meat and egg. In this regards protein industry take various steps. In consequence the demand of safe meat, milk & eggs in Bangladesh is increasing.
Aiming this context of view, the national Animal Health leader Company of Bangladesh Renata Limited and world nutritional reputed company Biomin GmbH, Austria jointly organized a scientific seminar “Driving the Asian Protein Economy-2017” in 23rd October at Hotel Le Meridian, Dhaka.
The programme was started with the registration of the invited guest at 8:30 am. Entrepreneurs from different parts of Bangladesh, renowned poultry consultant from abroad & Bangladesh as well as higher authority from different Government & Non-government institutes were present in this seminar.
At first, Opening & welcome notes was conducted by Mr. Tan Seong Lim, Regional Technical director, Biomin Asia Pacific. He also introduced the key note presenter & other speaker with the honorable guests.
After that Dr. Theo A. Niewold, PhD, Professor, Nutrition & Health, University of Leuven, Belgium, presents about “Livestock rearing without antimicrobial growth promoters is perfectly possible using anti-inflammatory feed compounds and feeding strategies”. In This presentation he was described how affordable, healthy and sustainable protein can be supply without microbial growth promoter.
Later on Dr. Robert F. Wideman, Jr.,PhD, Emeritus Professor, Center of Excellence for Poultry Science, University of Arakansas, Fayetteville AR, USA. presents his valuable speech about ”Probiotics as alternatives to antibiotics for treating lameness due to bacterial infections in broilers”. The main hints of his speech was how can lameness can be prevented without antibiotic. After Dr. Robert valuable speech Dr. Daniel Petri, PhD, Global Product Line Manager Microbials, BIOMIN Holding GmbH presents about “Health secrets of the gut”.
After Lunch break Renowned Professor Dr. Mohammad Rafiqul Islam, PhD, Department Of Pathology, Faculty Of Veterinary Science, Bangladesh Agricultural university delivered his valuable speech about “Stressors to the Immune system of Poultry”.
After that Mr. Shamsul Arefin Khaled, President, WPSA-BB, and Managing Director, Nourish Poultry & Hatchery Limited, Bangladesh delivered his speech about “A journey towards safe poultry production: An outlook of Bangladesh”.
After a tea break a panel discussion was held. This session was very amazing & attractive with the active participation from Guest & Speakers.
Finally the closing & thanks giving ceremony was conducted by Mr. Sirajul Hoque, Head of Animal Health Division, Renata Limited.-Press Release
